All the material needed for the course is shared via Moodle. In addition to the material needed to complete the course, additional material and links are available, some of which are in English.
Teaching methods
3D-printing basics (theory) -course offers an overview of the current 3D-printing processes and their applications. After completing the course, the student understands the principles of different types of 3D-printing technologies and materials. Student has an understanding on different steps in common 3D-printing processes and what needs to be considered when designing a 3D-printable piece. Course also includes general overview of different 3D-scanning technologies and their use.
Student workload
The course is a self-study online course (Moodle) that can be completed at your own pace during the course.
The content is a theoretical and there are no practical laboratory exercises.
There are no separate lectures and all course material can be accessed after the course opens.

Objective
The student will gain the ability to plan and conduct a research or development project. He or she can evaluate the applicability of a variety of research and development methods as well as gather, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data. In addition, the student can evaluate the reliability of a research or development process. The student knows the research ethics.

The process and goals of research and development projects. Planning and conducting research and development projects. Data acquisition in research and development projects. Gathering, analyzing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data. Use of statistical programs. Ethics in research. Basics of statistics.

This course is mainly all on-line and it is designed to support your thesis process.
The first part Fundamentals of research is compulsory to all students. After passing it you select either Qualitative research or Quantitative research module depending on the topic of your thesis.

Objective
Student is able to describe how digital working environment has developed (local to global), what is the meaning of digitalisation in a her/his working area/field and what are the future trends. Student recognises the benefits and obstacles of digital change. Student is able to choose digital tools which support her/his own working field. Objective
The aim is to help to adapt to the Finnish environment. The students will learn easy words and phrases needed in everyday situations. They will increase the awareness of characteristics of the Finnish way of life, culture and society.

This is the first course of Finnish. During the lectures you will learn to use grammar of beginner's level and will practice listening, reading, and speaking.

Grammar:
Personal pronouns, olla-verb, KPT-changing, verb types, questioning, genitive-case, plural form (-T), partitive, I have..., local cases.

Teaching methods
Green Hydrogen - Solutions will have an important role in future energy systems aiming fo carbon neutrality in energy sector. Students will receive comprehensive overview to national and international development trends of hydrogen economy, when looking for solutions to replace fossil energy sources. The course provides information on future energy system, hydrogen production, logistics, storage and use as fuel and raw material for synthetic fuels, providing the skills to work in research, development and implementation tasks of new technologies that promote the hydrogen economy.

Objective
After completing the course, student is able to
- explain the key-principles and good practice guidelines of infection prevention and control in healthcare settings.

Content
Healthcare associated infections are one of the most frequent adverse events in healthcare and lead to serious threats to patient safety and care efficiency. It is estimated that more than half of the HAIs could be prevented by following the evidence-based HAI prevention and control protocols. On this course, student will learn the key principles of infection prevention and control using interactive and engaging study materials.
The course consists of 12 modules:
- Chain of infections
- Additional precautions for specific transmission routes
- Hand Hygiene
- Clinical Microbiology Laboratory Actions in HCAI
- Use of Personal protective equipment and safe handling of clinical clothing
- Individual assessment of the risk of infection during patient admission and placement/isolation
- Global strategies to respiratory infection prevention and control
- Safe practices in the preparation and administration of intravenous drugs
- Decontamination of clinical devices and equipment
- Proper clinical waste management
- Environmental control and proper decontamination of hospital surfaces
- Two OSVE-simulations, which clarify the infection prevention and control methods in practice

Teaching methods
Student independently progresses through this online course, adapting to their own personal timetable. The learning process is completely digital, without the need for any in-person instruction.
The course consists of 12 theoretical modules centered around the crucial subject of infection prevention and control in healthcare settings. To successfully complete the course, students must complete all the modules and attain a minimum score of 50% accuracy across all the incorporated quizzes.
Once students have completed all the mandatory quizzes, they are awarded course credits. Teachers assess student course completion four times throughout the academic year (30.11, 29.2, 31.5 & 31.7). The student will be awarded the credits within two weeks from this date. The course is assessed on a pass/fail basis. During the course, you will implement your own innovation project.
We challenge you to change something in your own or your work community’s operations. The goal is to put theory into practice and learn by doing. As a result of your work, you will have a personal innovation handbook.
The course is open from the 15th of September 2023 to the 31st of July 2024 in the academic year 23-24. The assignments required to complete the course can be returned at any time to the return folder in the course and will be evaluated within three weeks of each return date.
There are two return days in the fall semester, three in the spring semester, and one in the summer season.

Changing climate is affecting everyone on earth and its sustainable development. This course deals with reliability of information sources on climate change, its basics, impacts, mitigation and adoption. What individual citizen, organization and society should do? The course introduces Human Security Approach and teach how preliminary impact assessment of the planned measures can be done in student’s own work, hobby or life. The course is multidisciplinary and suitable for everyone with previous higher education qualification.

The student learns to realize what impacts his/her decisions about fashion have on sustainability. He/she becomes familiar with fashion concepts in a social, cultural, environmental and economical context both locally and globally. The student understands the importance of sustainable fashion strategies based on future thinking. The student is able to translate trends and target designs to correspond with and enhance a company's/brand’s identity. The student learns to work in a practical, creative and innovative way in the development of fashion concepts in a sustainable context. He/she is able to demonstrate a critical engagement in various aspects of sustainability and justify his/her proposals and decisions. He or she will learn to work in a concept design process based on both an experimental, sustainable and commercial approach.

The purpose of this course is to provide a general view of the sustainable fashion. Students, who have enrolled in this course, have a variety of backgrounds and you can do all the assignments according to your background.
Most importantly, you will get new ideas for your further studies.
This course has a lot of material to read and learn, but you can partially select the ones that are most interesting to you and help you with the assignments. There are also study materials in video format to make your study easier.
The beginning of this course deals more with fashion problems and the rest of the course deals more with solutions. At the end of this course, you make your own proposal for more sustainable fashion.
This is a 100% online course, but interactivity for the course is created by discussions on topics and different perspectives. In this student-oriented learning process, the student is active and curiously seeks solutions to the phenomena that are the subject of learning.

The course will have a well balanced theoretical and practical parts. You will be matched in working pairs to practice coaching tools.
The completion method of the course will consist of:
- being present in the online sessions as there will not be recordings done of the practical parts
- a critical reflective essey written using your reflections from the "course journey"
- completing a test (scoring minimum 51%) focusing on the theory of coaching
Student workload
As the course is 3 ECTS it assumes around 80h of work load, up to 30h of these will be theory and practice during the workshop, the rest of it will be your own work outside of school.

The course is based on independent work. It includes self-guided information search and reflecting your exchange experiences from different personal perspectives, at different points during your exchange period. The tuition language is English.

The student is able to act in multicultural situations and understands the importance of intercultural communication. The student acquires useful knowledge about both the home country and the target country and its cultural ways before/ in the beginning of the exchange. After the exchange, the student is able to specify and describe one's own experiences.

Passing the course - the requirements and assessment
To pass the course, 8 compulsory assignments must be finished and passed by the deadlines.
The final evaluation, as well as each assignment, of the course is Fail/Pass. This is due to the nature of assignments as they are based on personal experiences, partly reflections, opinions and feelings, and not only on more observable skills & knowhow.
Each assignment will be passed if:
- It is done following the instructions, and its contents match with the task description.
- The submitted work is executed in detail, and both the layout of the submissions and writing/speaking included follow professional standards and are carefully finalized.
- The contents of the submitted work reflect the student's own thinking, experiences and learning during the exchange period.
- The background materials are clearly used to support the student's writing and thinking, and they are referenced in a good academic manner.

Objective
The student strengthens his/her communicative skills and professional expertise in an international learning environment. The student will gain experience to work and learn effectively as a team member in another cultural environment. The implementation of the course may vary according to destination and the role of the international co-operative partners.

Цель обучения - помочь адаптироваться к финскому образу жизни. Владение базовой лексикой и фразами, необходимых в повседневных ситуациях. Начальные навыки и осведомленность в особенностях финской культуры и общества.

Cодержание курса
Словарный запас и фразы по темам: знакомство, приветствие, заполнение документов с личной информацией, знаки дорожного движения, объявления, предупреждения. Места посещения, покупки, направления и т. д. Грамматика: спряжение глаголов в настоящем времени.
